Continuing our support on the islands, we organize various events and activities for students throughout the year.
With a base knoweldge on the ‘important’ things, in the Netherlands our events are community-based. Bringing our students together to learn about and hear the successes and challenges we go through.

It not only helps you to feel ready to be going, but you get to meet new people as well that are in the same position as you. We as students don’t get the sufficient guidance needed from arubalening or from our mentors before we go. Let’s say 2 hours from what we learned from Kompas is what we get to learn when we are here with the beursalen group for 5 days, it’s little info and all of it is just a repeat of what I already got to learn from Kompas. The only difference is that now I actually get to experience it in real life.
It is the best preparation I could imagine getting before I leave. Really hands-on, it sets you in the mood and actually makes you excited and confident to go face on this new experience. I think a lot of students don’t know what they’re getting themselves into and Kompas can make sure ALL students are confident and sure in their big step.
